Night Service Indication

Description

Night Service switches the system from day service to night service and vice versa. When the system is placed into night service (usually at the end of the workday) incoming external calls ring at an extension(s) selected by the Administrator.

To indicate the current setting, supported sets can be programmed with a Night Service Indication key that lights when the system is in night service. The user can then press the key to display the current mode of operation (Day, Night 1 or Night 2).

Any extension can check whether the system is in Day or Night service, but only those that have the required Class of Service can change the Day/Night Service mode.

NOTE: As of MiVoice Business Release 8.0, 53xx (excluding the 5304, 5312, and 5324) and 69xx sets can use the Night Service Indicator feature key to change the Day/Night Service mode. Previously, the key was only a service mode indicator.

An answering point can be a single device (attendant console, station, trunk, or night bell) or a hunt group. The answer point used depends on the selected mode of operation (Day, Night 1 or Night 2).
